One of the hardest issues we deal with in life, especially as we age, is the loss of control. So much of what we once held firmly in our hands slowly slips beyond our reach. Whether the factory where you gave twenty faithful years will still be standing. Whether the friendships that meant everything will hold. Whether your children will stay close or build their lives somewhere far away. Whether your health, the one thing you counted on, will continue to cooperate.

And then there is the question that may feel too heavy to speak aloud: Why am I here, in this place I never imagined I would be?

These are grown-up burdens, and in all honesty, they can be overwhelming. Wasn't life far simpler when we were children? We didn't lie awake worrying about such things, because we trusted our father to handle them. We rested in his care without a second thought.

Here is the good news, my friend, you still have a Father. Your Heavenly Father has not stepped away, grown weary, or forgotten where you are. He declares in Isaiah 46:4, "Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you!" And Romans 8:28 reminds us that "all things work together for good to those who love God."

He has always made a way for His child, and He is not finished making a way for you.
