Psalm 1:1-2

"Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night."

David opens the book of Psalms with a profound simplicity, that there are only two paths in life. No matter what you face, the bottom-line question remains the same, which way will you choose?

Will you feast on the Bread of Life through daily time in God's Word, where faith grows (Romans 10:17) and your roots sink down deep into unshakable ground? Or will you drift toward the way of the world, blown away by the first strong wind that comes? The choice is always ours.

The very first word of this book is blessed. That is what God desires for you. Not someday. Now. Let's choose to live that blessed life, starting today.

The blessed life is an active, intentional one. It delights in God's Word. Delight is more than duty, but a genuine joy in what God says. When we meditate on God’s Word day and night, we allow His truth to reshape how we see our circumstances, our relationships, and our purpose. His Word has a way of straightening what life has bent. So today, open your Bible as if it were a love letter written personally to you, because it is. Come not out of obligation, but out of invitation. God has something to say to you today, and it is always for your good.

Prayer: Lord, let Your Word be my delight today. Help me to walk in Your counsel, meditate on Your truth, and bear the fruit that only comes from a life rooted in You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
